Sense of burden released, dancing freely

I work at a Christian Science nursing facility. A couple of years ago, I suddenly started having back spasms that brought me down to my knees. My nursing colleagues surrounded me with loving outreaches and kind consideration. At a special meeting, one colleague discerned that I was having difficulty. I could tell that she was immediately seeing only my perfection. My spasm stopped right away.

I engaged the services of a Christian Science practitioner, who helped me let go of a burdened sense about work. While listening to an audio of The Christian Science Journal one night, I was filled with inspiration. With each indication that there would soon be a wave of pain, inspiration provided the conviction to stand up to that suggestion. Each wave was stopped before it took over.

One Saturday evening after spending 12 hours working at a computer, I was feeling very uncomfortable. I called the practitioner, who reminded me that that I should have balance and the expectation of normalcy. Then the practitioner asked me what I would want to do if I could do anything. I immediately said, “Dance!” She responded, “Well then, do it!”

After the phone call, I got right up, selected a YouTube music video with a Latin beat, and danced happily. There were some “ouches” during the first two songs, but by the third song I felt thoroughly “lubed up.” I woke the next morning free and have remained so.

I am so grateful for the practical support and kindness of my Christian Science nursing colleagues and for the faithful, prayerful support of my Christian Science practitioner.
