“Wednesday night meetings have become so full of uplift and healing…”

This past year, I have had an unusual number of encounters with total strangers, who poured out their stories to me.  I have shared truths that I have learned in Christian Science with them, and I believe that they went away feeling God’s love and feeling comforted.  There were many, many opportunities throughout the year to express gratitude for God’s love to all mankind.  They all seemed like, “Ho, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters” moments, and I am grateful for the healing thoughts that always came to me at the right time to share and bless. (Is. 55:1)

Our little church soldiers on, expressing Love and Truth, and has been blessed in its work.  About four months ago, a woman showed up at the Wednesday evening meeting and said she had been thinking about quantum mechanics, and that led her to Christian Science!  She stood up and said, “I’m 83 years old, and I figure I have plenty of time to learn more about Christian Science.  It’s what I’ve been looking for all my life.”  (She related that when she was four or five, her grandmother came in from gardening and said that her arthritis was really bothering her.  Our visitor remembers thinking, “Well, that’s not going to happen to me.”  In recent years, whenever doctors mentioned that she has arthritis, she told them she doesn’t, totally rejected that claim, knew that it was a lie about her, and has never experienced a moment’s discomfort.)

This wonderful woman, full of the joy of discovering Christian Science, has so inspired us all!  Wednesday night meetings have become so full of uplift and healing, as she (already immersed in Science and Health, by Mrs. Eddy, Prose Works, and articles and lectures on-line) asks questions, has healings, and gives testimonies.  Her joy reminds us all of how much Christian Science means to us and helps us remember the many healings our families and we have had.  (She confided to me that she is taking Primary Class instruction as I write this!)
