“God wanted Mrs. Eddy to write a chapter that contained practical ideas…as well as absolute statements on creation.”

The Creation chapter is interesting because it differs from the Genesis chapter in Science and Health, by Mary Baker Eddy.  God wanted Mrs. Eddy to write a chapter that contained a variety of practical ideas that relate to human life as well as absolute statements on creation.

Reading through this chapter, I can recall so many of the ideas which have been demonstrated in my life – for instance, “Would existence without personal friends be to you a blank?” (SH 266:6)  God’s expectation is that we learn “universal Love.”

This assignment also introduced me to new ideas which will probably be demonstrated as I need them in the present and the future – such as, “We should forget our bodies in remembering good and the human race.” (SH 261:31-32)
