“Consciousness changes to a higher base and healing results”

I have witnessed two healings of diabetes this year and my own healing of impaired vision. The one healing of diabetes took ten years. The doctor confirmed the healing. The other healing came in less than two years. A doctor, also, confirmed it. Being able to read hymns in church, serve as a substitute reader, and generally doing daily tasks, all without glasses, have confirmed my healing. That healing took thirty years and consecrated study of all the references in Science and Health on sight, spiritual senses and vision, often memorizing some of them.

I have learned, from studying Science and Health, that matter, body, cannot be sick but that it is mortal mind that is sick in every case; that mortal mind must yield to the harmony of the divine Mind and that Mind governs every action of the body. When human consciousness changes from error – i.e. fear, sin, etc., – to Mind’s harmonious government, no matter how long that takes or what study and prayer must be given; so long as the belief gets destroyed in human consciousness, the consciousness changes to a higher base and healing results.

So few words, but it has taken many years of consecrated study of this Science to arrive at these truths. God has led me hitherto and has opened my eyes to them. He renews my study every day showing me new inspiration, but the basic ideas expressed above remain the same – matter cannot suffer, mortal mind alone suffers, divine Mind alone heals.

And the best healings come from when I am in the consciousness of Truth and Love so far that I realize only Spirit and Spirit’s creation here and now.

“The real Christ was unconscious of matter, of sin, disease, and death, and was conscious only of God, of good, of eternal Life, and harmony. Hence the human Jesus had a resort to his higher self and relation to the Father, and there could find rest from unreal trials in the conscious reality and royalty of his being, – holding the mortal as unreal, and the divine as real. It was this retreat from material to spiritual selfhood, which recuperated him for triumph over sin, sickness, and death. Had he been as conscious of these evils as he was of God, wherein there is no consciousness of human error, Jesus could not have resisted them…”
