Within a few minutes I heard the sounds of an ambulance – we live in a small community – and I continued declaring the truth that “no evil shall befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” (Ps. 91:10)  Divine Love’s angels were present right now to guard, guide, and govern.

That night at church, the readings were so good.  They reassured me the protection I’d witnessed was still embracing every detail of my experience—everything was in place and complete, revealing itself.  The shadowy sense of concern just didn’t square with what I was seeing and had witnessed.

I shared Mary Baker Eddy's spiritual interpretation, and the definition of "oil" in the textbook. (Attorneys later said several on the jury took notes on this.  When the testimony was completed, two Christian jurors came up, one to share their love of prayer and another to express gratitude for how much more the Psalm 23 passage now meant to them.)

I called a Christian Science practitioner, to pray with me, about this situation.  I stopped work with her a little over a week later, saying I was going to keep praying to affirm, AND REAFFIRM my status as God's idea, created in His image and likeness, whole, completely good, uncompromised in this depiction!

“I have gained this wonderful calmness, feeling and knowing that the Christ, the healing presence of God is with me…”

I continue gaining more enlarged understanding of who God is and my spiritual identity as God’s perfect child.  Two weeks ago I fell on the tiles of the locker room of the athletic club where I do 20-minute laps in a 25-yard pool twice a week.  They were going to call 911 but I said “No.”  Then as I lay there hurting from foot to elbow, I emphatically said the “scientific statement of being” and insisted they help me up.  One of the therapists stayed with me about 15 minutes, and calmly helped me to the car.  I, of course, got home and read some wonderful healing words of Mrs. Eddy, went to sleep, and went swimming the next day.  (I also shouted out at the pool that I was God’s perfect child!)  I have gained this wonderful calmness, feeling and knowing that the Christ, the healing presence of God is with me, protecting me, teaching me, guiding me, and am so grateful for understanding that God is never to be known as an anthropomorphic entity.  Instead, God is LIGHT, LOVE, GOODNESS, PERFECTNESS, LIFE, TRUTH, PRINCIPLE, DIVINE MIND, GLORIOUS, AMESOME POWER AND "MUSIC".

How convinced human thought is of matter and material experience.  Yet healing proves matter to be nothing.  I am in Science, “entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living.” (S&H, p. 14)  I have never been trapped in matter.  I am in the holy of holiest.  That is solid conviction and real.

Healings from practice

In practice this year I have witnessed:

  • A deepening hunger for God and spiritual growth in many patients.
  • Healing of deafness, heart attacks/heart conditions, apparent appendicitis, flu, broken and sprained bones, dental challenges.
  • Business problems (including threats of embezzlement, firing, lack of supply, threatened violence).  Weather threats, family relationships, missing persons found, need for suitable living and work situations, forest fires.
  • Healings of church-related conflicts and challenges.

"I realized the only answer was prayer – not a pleading for relief, but deeply and humbly listening for God to lead the way."

 The turning point came when I realized there is only One Cause and Creator – one innovator, one developer, one manager and owner, and also that I was allowing myself to be held captive by a very aggressive, false standard that says success in business determines much of who we are today. As I let go of this, the needed listening came gently and naturally.
