"the abscess opened painlessly"

  1. The book did not make any changes in my view of Christian Science healing; I already have the ultimate respect for it, but I enjoy reading it every time.

  2. There are many healings in the book that I especially liked reading. I value having the opportunity to read them all. One of the healings I loved was the one where a man had an accident at work which threatened to destroy his vision permanently: “I was examined by the eye specialist and a life sentence of destroyed vision was pronounced.” (pgs. 97-99). Two days later the man was reading the Christian Science Sentinel “with no discomfort or impaired vision.” Another healing that I loved is the one where a man’s legs and stomach were run over by a truck, “loaded with five yards of rock,” on a work site. The fact that the man was even still alive afterwards is a testament to God’s power, and he made a full recovery all thanks to God. (pgs. 114-115)

  3. I thank God for the many healings I have had in my life. Recently I had an extremely large abscess in my gum and jaw area that was about the size of half a tennis ball. The whole side of my cheek was completely swollen, and I was unable to go out to public places at a certain point because of my appearance. The pain was seemingly excruciating and nonstop for days on end. I was able to get very little rest and was frequently up all night. This went on for some time, but I continued to have faith in God to heal. Then one night the abscess opened painlessly and drained out, and I was healed instantly in that moment. I am thankful to the maximum possible extent for God, Christ Jesus, Mrs. Eddy, and Christian Science.

  4. I love reading the book every time. It is an amazing testament to the power of God to heal. I will continue to thank God for all of the people He has healed.
