“Science provides us with the rule of perfection.”

I was loving the idea of “rallying” in the name of truth or “in demonstration of Truth, as must be the case in the cycles of divine light” when a woman called me for helpful prayer.  (S&H, p. 135)  One of her fingers seemed twisted, bent and immoveable making it impossible for her to write thank you notes to those who helped her with her husband’s recent passing.  As I listened for the right idea, the truth of conscious Spirit fills all space and time came into thought.  I could see that everything was in its rightful place and remained undisturbed. Then the idea that Science provides us with the rule of perfection, bringing this immortal sense of harmony to light, took me that much further.

I had recently read a testimony of healing in a Sentinel and the phrase used by the practitioner was quoted as “spiritual ideas always express the order and function of divine law.”  Of course I found this particularly useful in this prayer.  My thought turned to Eccl 3:14 “Whatsoever God doeth, it shall be forever: nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it.”  Then Mrs. Eddy’s statement flowed, “All that really exists is the divine Mind and its idea, and in this Mind the entire being is found harmonious and eternal” (S&H 151:26-28)  There was no accuser; there was no excuse for error.

In the morning she called and said she was writing freely, all her fingers were nimble and useful and had been so, since about a half hour after the treatment was given.

I’m very grateful for the flow of spiritual ideas and the fact that God knows what ideas you’re going to need to practice His Science, to love His people.
